The Inventions
John Deere has become famous all across America, especially in rural towns. He was a blacksmith from Illinois who designed a light but strong steel plow. John Deere forever changed the farming game. He made it easier for more people to produce more crops. Eventually those inventions became this.
Jethro Tull invented the seed drill in 1701. The invention was horse drawn and intended to uniformly sow seeds in rows. This made fields more uniform and concentrated in rows. The seed drill aided farmers in having an easier time planting their fields because previously they did it by hand.

Cyrus McCormick developed a mechanical reaper to harvest six acres of grain in a day. Much faster than techniques previously used. Cyrus McCormick does not receive the credit he deserves. He developed a much more complex machine during the same period that John Deere created the steel plow. However, McCormick's invention only aided some people on their farms.
Robert Bakewell developed the process of selective breeding. His idea was to yield higher quality wool and meat. He developed new, better breeds of sheep, cattle, and pig. This development created higher quality wool and meat for people to use and sell.
